About Power Verbs

Power Verbs are purposefully chosen verbs that when used consistently, emphasize skill level and competency.

For example:

Coordinated often communicates a lower level function than Orchestrated

Developed may imply a different level of involvement than Designed

Performed may communicate a lower level function than Executed

If you want to clearly express your competencies, take a look through the verbs you currently use on your resume and see if you can find opportunities to add "oomph" to your resume by using results-focused, skills-highlighting power verbs.

Following is a brief list of power verbs to get you started:

Streamline, Restructure, Procure, Engineer, Architect, Lead, Advocate, Champion, Launch, Initiate, Conduct, Assess, Abolish, Isolate, Mentor
